When I prompted Copilot (in a Word doc) to describe itself, one of the answers was:
Copilot is your friendly digital assistant that is transforming the way WE develop presentations.
It's a digital assistant, that's why the name is Copilot. Which, in other words, implies that YOU are the 'pilot' to create the presentation.
Copilot makes the process smooth, intuitive, and even a bit magical.
With that in perspective, let's look at how Copilot helps to create unique slides.

Peeping inside Copilot
I’ll be concise, you can watch the video above that demonstrates the steps within PowerPoint.
Here are four key features that will help you grasp how Copilot crafts presentations in just minutes.
Based on your initial inputs (usually 'text prompts'), Copilot draws from a vast repository of themes, templates, and design elements to make your presentation both coherent and visually appealing.
Copilot excels at incorporating images, videos, and graphics. It suggests relevant multimedia based on your topic and context, so that your slides are not only informative but also captivating.
Copilot can easily link with Microsoft Designer inside PowerPoint making it easier for you to prompt for and find the perfect AI images for your slides.
Copilot automatically includes animations and transitions. It intuitively integrates these elements to ensure that your presentation is ready for instant delivery.

Not everything is cool though (as of now)
From my perspective, any AI tool is a perpetual work-in-progress. This holds true for Copilot, whose main challenge lies in sourcing information for presentations.
Currently, Copilot sources information primarily from PDF and DOCX files as inputs that are already present in OneDrive. You cannot source from external URLs, PDFs, or Google Drive.
This means that for topics requiring extensive research or data from diverse sources, you have to provide additional manual input.
Additionally, as with many other AI tools, there might be instances where the automated choices by Copilot don’t perfectly align with what you desire them to be. When that happens, you may have to tweak and customize the slides.
The video above shows you examples of mismatches while using Copilot.

Hopes for future
Limitations notwithstanding, Copilot has exciting plans to enhance its capabilities.
A couple of them:
Ability to source information from a wider array of external resources, such as URLs, PDFs, and Google Drive. Enhanced algorithms will enable Copilot to better understand context and provide more accurate suggestions.
Improvements in the AI’s learning capabilities that will enable Copilot to better adapt to individual user preferences. What does this mean?
Well, over time, Copilot will become more adept at predicting your choices and tailoring its suggestions to fit your unique style.

Summing up
Expectations are that Copilot presentations will improve significantly - especially for researchers and presenters - when data can be directly obtained from credible external sources such as studies by entities of repute, published papers, a company's internal reports and memos, reliable web URLs, etc.
What about quality of presentations from random prompts? The jury is still out on that.
